Myanmar has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of violence in the Middle East, urging all parties involved to exercise restraint and pursue peaceful dialogue to resolve the conflict.

In an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw, the Myanmar government emphasized that sustainable peace can only be achieved through diplomatic engagement and constructive negotiations. The statement stressed the importance of resolving disputes in accordance with the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

Myanmar called on all sides to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of every nation in the region, warning that continued escalation could further destabilize the Middle East and undermine prospects for long-term peace.

According to Arab News Japan, the ministry also appealed for immediate efforts to reduce tensions and encouraged all stakeholders to return to the negotiating table in pursuit of a peaceful settlement.

The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence often referred to as the Panchsheel Principles serve as a framework for maintaining respectful relations between nations. First adopted in 1954 by India and China, the principles emphasize mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-aggression, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence among states with different political systems.

Myanmar reiterated that adherence to these principles remains essential for maintaining stability and cooperation among nations, particularly during times of heightened geopolitical tensions.
