Senior envoys from China and Thailand attended the inauguration of Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing in Naypyidaw, signaling continued regional engagement with the country.

China was represented by Jiang Xinzhi, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. During a meeting with President Min Aung Hlaing, Jiang conveyed warm greetings from President Xi and reaffirmed the strong friendship between the two nations.

China expressed support for Myanmar in pursuing a development path that suits its national conditions. Beijing also voiced readiness to deepen high quality Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, jointly maintain stability along the China Myanmar border, and ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and projects in Myanmar. The goal is to build a China Myanmar community with a shared future.

Min Aung Hlaing thanked China for its consistent support. He reaffirmed Myanmar's adherence to the one China principle and its backing for China's four major global initiatives. He also pledged to protect China's security interests and expand practical cooperation in various fields.

Separately, Thailand sent Parnpree Bahiddha Nukara, Chief Advisor and Special Envoy of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the ceremony at the Myanmar Parliament in Nay Pyi Taw. Parnpree delivered congratulations from Thailand's leadership and highlighted the close, friendly ties between the two neighboring countries.

Thailand expressed willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in security and economic areas, for the mutual benefit of both peoples.

The presence of high-level representatives from China and Thailand underscores ongoing regional interest in Myanmar's stability and development following the presidential inauguration.
