SiGMA South Asia made a high-impact debut in Colombo from 30 November to 2 December, bringing together 2,500 delegates from across the global gaming, technology, and affiliate sectors. Hosted at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, the summit marked a major milestone in SiGMA Group’s expansion into South Asia, a region rapidly transforming into a powerhouse for digital economies, gaming innovation, and regulatory reform. F. Gaming News reported.
The event arrived at a pivotal moment for Sri Lanka, which recently introduced the Gambling Regulatory Authority positioning the country as a rising regional player and giving industry stakeholders renewed confidence in Colombo as a future hub for regulated gaming and investment. With regulators, policymakers, innovators and affiliates gathered under one roof, the summit showcased both the country’s ambitions and SiGMA’s long-term commitment to building strong cross-border industry networks.
Cultural immersion, community focus and industry excellence
Pre-conference activities on 30 November welcomed delegates with an Explore Colombo by Jeep experience, offering a lively introduction to the city’s heritage and coastline. The day concluded with the SiGMA South Asia Awards at the Cumulus Ballroom, where an elegant setting featuring traditional Sri Lankan dances and live saxophone performances celebrated the sector’s top innovators and changemakers.

A major highlight of the evening was a charity auction organised by the SiGMA Foundation. Funds raised were directed to emergency relief efforts for communities hit hard by Cyclone Ditwa’s devastating floods, reaffirming the group’s commitment to social impact wherever it expands.
Industry leaders honoured
Among the award recipients were major global names including Spribe, PG Soft, SOFTSWISS, 1xBet, BetConstruct and Melbet Affiliates. The prestigious Hall of Game category celebrated figures driving sustainable transformation across the gaming world. South Asia Hall of Game honourees included Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Melco International Development, and Tony Macmillan, General Manager of Gaming & Operations at Bally’s Casino Entertainment Ltd.
With its successful debut, SiGMA South Asia has set the stage for Colombo to become a central meeting point for the region’s fast-growing gaming and digital innovation landscape.
