A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung visited China from 14 to 20 September at the invitation of Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong to attend a series of high-level meetings on law enforcement and security cooperation.

The delegation first attended the 8th China-Myanmar Ministerial Meeting on Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation in Beijing on 15 September, where both sides discussed bilateral security and law enforcement collaboration and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation.

Later the same day, the delegation joined the Lancang-Mekong Ministerial Meeting on Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation alongside representatives from regional countries. Discussions focused on strengthening regional security, enhancing mutual trust, and promoting peace and stability in border areas. That evening, the delegation attended a dinner hosted by Minister Wang Xiaohong.

On 17–18 September, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung also took part in the 2nd Public Security Technology Exhibition and the 2025 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum Conference in Beijing. In his remarks, he stressed the importance of practical cooperation in security and the rule of law, joint efforts to combat traditional and non-traditional security challenges, information exchange, and peaceful dispute resolution.

Following the Beijing meetings, the Myanmar delegation traveled to Shanghai on 18 September. On 19 September, they visited the PutaO District Police Headquarters of the Shanghai Public Security Department to observe criminal investigation work. The delegation returned to Yangon on 20 September.

According to officials, the visit strengthened bilateral cooperation between the two ministries, enhanced Myanmar’s engagement with Lancang-Mekong countries, and broadened exchanges with representatives from international organizations on security and legal issues.
