Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma has said that students in the region will be equipped with modern technological skills to help them integrate with the national mainstream and contribute to enhancing Bangladesh’s global standing.

He made the remarks on Sunday while addressing a view-sharing meeting at Khagrachari Government High School, after inaugurating the school’s newly constructed main gate (arch).

The Adviser said, under the directives of the Chief Adviser, initiatives are underway to introduce Starlink technology in the hill tracts and bring all educational institutions in the region under a comprehensive computer network.

Emphasizing the importance of keeping the education system up-to-date, Supradip Chakma stressed strengthening teaching in mathematics, English, and science to build a digitally skilled student base. He also said only trained and competent teachers will be appointed in these subjects, with no compromise in recruitment standards.

“This initiative is expected to open a new horizon for students in the hilly region,” he added.

Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Shefalika Tripura, Deputy Commissioner ABM Iftekharul Islam Khandaker, and Superintendent of Police Arefin Jewel, among others, were present at the programme.
