Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus extended his heartfelt greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion of Saraswati Puja, which is celebrating across Bangladesh on Monday (February 03) with traditional enthusiasm, festivity, and religious fervor.

In a message delivered on the eve of the celebration, Dr Yunus emphasized Bangladesh’s rich heritage of communal harmony. He stated, “For thousands of years, people of all religions have been living together in this country irrespective of caste, color, and religion.” He reaffirmed that Bangladesh is a nation that belongs to all its citizens and serves as a safe haven for people of all religious backgrounds.

Reflecting on the recent political landscape, Dr Yunus mentioned the interim government’s formation through a historic uprising of students, workers, and the masses on August 5. He highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring the rights and welfare of all citizens, regardless of race, religion, or caste.
Dr Yunus also elaborated on the significance of the occasion, stating, “The goddess Saraswati is a symbol of truth, justice, and the light of knowledge. She is the omnipotent force of wisdom, speech, and melody.” He urged the Hindu community to channel their devotion toward the progress and development of the country by embracing the pursuit of knowledge.

In conclusion, the Chief Adviser expressed his wishes for peace, welfare, and prosperity for all citizens of Bangladesh, reinforcing the nation's tradition of unity and harmony during religious festivities.
